I've switched to filtering after the messages come in by clicking
'Folder - Apply All filters on Folder' on the Inbox.
Just to confirm this has totally stopped the duplication in my case.

Hello, I'm getting this problem on KMail Version 4.14.9
The 'sleep 0.5' command workaround didn't work for me.
However I have found that it only seems to happen when moving messages into
mail folders that I imported (via Evolution 3 import from my previous maildir
files.)
