When starting gvim on (X)Ubuntu 21.04 I get a long list of GTK3 error
messages. It starts with

"/usr/share/X11/locale/en_US.UTF-8/Compose"
and this is followed by a long list of messages like this:

After a kernel upgrade to linux-image-2.6.32-61-generic sound has
stopped working. Sound applications hang and no sound is produced.
ubuntu-bug -s audio does produce the first test tone but not the
second one. Any subsequent attempt to close apport then causes it to
stop
An attempt to run apport-collect 1327220 to gather more information
resulted in the following error message:

After connection to a Windows exchange server I went to Calendar, at
which point evolution hung, and I forcefully killed it. Now when I start
the program it starts in the Calendar (and keeps giving error messages
about not being able to connect

date and time in gnome-system-log become unreadable. It uses a dark
foreground color that doesn't appear to be defined in the theme, and
this blends into the theme's dark
