Yeah, I don't know what happened, but I did a "sudo rm -r" of the
/etc/bind directory, then tried reinstalling and it worked. Everything's
working like a charm now.

Not really sure what the entire problem was. Was trying to reinstall
bind9, but the install failed.
I was reinstalling to attempt to solve the problem of bind9 service not
starting.
