You have to install the 180 nvidia drivers. Ubuntu team have fix the bug
on their end, it's the 17x drivers that were the issue. This has been
fixed with the 180 series drivers.

Well 9.04 already has them in the repo. I'd be surprised if they don't
release them for LTS and 8.10 also.

I've installed JJ(9.04) from dailybuild(~5days ago) and it(180.x) does
show up in the hardware drivers, then again it might be because I have a
x295

You have to download the drivers yourself:

1. Save it
2. chmod +x it (terminal)
3. Press ctrl+alt+f1
4. login
5. kill gdm (/etc/init.d/gdm stop) as root
6. run the .run ( ./NVIDIA..)
7. Say Yes to anything it asks you(especially if your are
I've also noticed this. I watch videos on GameTrailers in Flash Player
and I've noticed that if you let the video buffer completely It will no
longer lag

This is kind of weird because I ran fusion-icon to change to
compiz/emerald themer, as I went back to the GTK Window Decorator, I no
longer have the glitch. I have the human theme, it's no longer glitching
for me.

as zynaps said above it's not only when I close even hovering over the
title bar will cause the bug, I switched to the emerald theme manager
since and haven't had any problems/glitches only with the basic/gnome
theme manager. 8.04 did not have this bug either
