Here's the Valgrind log.
Also I forgot to mention in the first post that I have a dual monitor
setup.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
Sometimes when I try to resize a window, compiz quickly consumes all
available RAM and the system starts swapping and becomes unresponsive.
This usually happens when I resize GNOME Terminal window, but its quite
random. I have the Resize Info and

Hi!
Liferea is segfaulting again with the new fix. With the previous fix
everything was working fine for me, even the auto-load link in internal
browser feature.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: liferea
Liferea segfaults always when I click a feed item title, or when I
select a feed item when feed has autoload item link on.
ProblemType: Crash
Architecture: amd64
CrashCounter: 1
Date: Sun Apr 1 12:01:56 2007
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04
I had to compile those packages myself since I'm on amd64 (not sure if I
did it right), but here's the result of liferea --debug-net --debug-
verbose liferea-net.log.

Forgot to mention that the previous log was generated with the older
patch. Noticed the new patch just a minute ago.

I can confirm that I lose Firefox settings everytime this happens,
sometimes I lose settings of Nautilus, Thunderbird, Liferea, Gaim, etc.
It's not just gconf settings that are lost. The config files don't get
deleted, but somehow they get corrupted. If I open them, they contain
just some random
Yep, it seems to be a usplash problem, since disabling usplash resolves
it. Maybe this is somehow related to usplash segfaulting on amd64?
Here's the output of Alt+SysRq+T:

I tried doing Alt+SysRq+T again and now it printed a few screenfuls of
text. I was able to read that usplash was running before the screen was
filled with a call trace. I couldn't find any log of this in /var/log,
but I'll take a couple of pictures of the output tomorrow when I have a
camera
Alt+SysRq+T prints SysRq: Show State, but I guess that doesn't help
much.

I have the same problem. It seems that if I type 'sudo reboot' on
terminal, the system reboots as it should.
I also noticed that when this soft lockup occurs, some files get
corrupted on my home partition. Firefox bookmarks and settings get
corrupted every time because of this, and sometimes
