I can confirm this behaviour, using Lubuntu in a VM when killing
lxsession CPU usage drops down to usual levels and logs the user out of
Lubuntu. Upon logging back in lxsession resumes using 100% CPU.
I have also marked bug 796843 lxtask shows 100% CPU usage regardless of
actual usage as a

It did not generate the error report but watching the detail install and
looking at the log file, showed that both apport, and the supporting python
files were 'half configured' again.
I reset /etc/default/apport
I apologize, I double checked my log, and it did not install and
configure correctly the 2nd time I tried with /etc/default/apport
enable set to 1. Reinstalling it in synaptic with enable as 1 did not
seem to correct it.

I am experiencing the same problem with an HP OfficeJet 6500. I tried
to downgrading to jaunty's libsane - didn't have any effect. I then

Adding blacklist b43-pci-bridge didn't help. I couldn't get recovery
mode or a USB live cd to boot, but adding the boot option
noload=b43,ssd,b43-pci-bridge allowed me to boot. I removed B43 using
the hardware admin screen and installed STA. Everything appears to be
working.

I can't believe that this bug is going to make it into Karmic final :( I
just helped a friend of mine get rid of his spyware ridden Windows
install by installing Karmic RC remotely and fully updated it. I was sad
to hear that the screen was flickering when it restarted. I tried the
HAL patch

The machine fails to resume from suspend. It will power up for a
second, then completely shut off. I power it back on, and it does a
full bootup, starting from scratch (rather than the suspend point). It
