When starting or restarting ejabberd with systemctl on Ubuntu 22.04, the
systemctl command hangs until there is a tiemout.
Ejabberd seems to start just fine but fails to notify systemd that it

I have another data point to add. As I was preparing to logout and log
back in, I noticed that the menu became responsive again when I closed
Nautilus, i.e. the two windows for "Files" that appear in the menu in
the screenshot.

It has not happened to me since a few month after making the bug report.
In the meantime I have upgraded that laptop. I have also gotten a new
laptop.
I'm now using 18.04 and I have not had this problem since upgrading to

I'm seeing these symptoms with a Trusty (14.04) VM built on a Zesty
(17.04) host today. Not sure, but it looks like the grub issue since
there was some error from grub as the vm was being built.
None of the suggestions in the comments here worked for me.

Thunderbird also loses its text.
I could have taken more screen shots, but don't think that they would be
helpful.

Using --addpkg linux-image-generic caused the vm to build, but it would
never get to a usable state. It sould sit at Starting up... in virt-
manager console.
This is on a vmhost upgraded from precise to trusty.

I still needed to either apply the patch above to /usr/lib/python2.7
/dist-packages/VMBuilder/plugins/ubuntu/dapper.py or use the linux-
image-generic trick.

application uses QActions that are are set up in the mainwindow.ui file.
