The "Application is ready" notification is pointless, really. Say, I
click on the open downloads folder button in Firefox and GNOME Shell
gives me a notification saying "Application is ready" but doesn't open
the notification. I'm totally expecting an app to open because I
Its important to not that this bug is also affecting all distributions
using Ubuntu repos, like elementary OS for example. It is affecting

The bug is not "Invalid". We know its not a necessary extension, but that
was not the point. The point is it chimes by default and is ON by default,
because of which Firefox runs without e10s multiprocess. This makes all
default Ubuntu users run Firefox at lower performance than it can. I

Firefox is already on v52 and on its way to have more than 2 processes
as default soon. Also, Firefox 57 will remove legacy add-ons support
altogether and go web extensions only.
Please update the ubufox add-on to a web extension soon.

with Firefox 48. Right now, at least half the Firefox users have
Multiprocess enabled by default and the performance and stability
benefits are quite substantial. More about Multiprocess here -

The update isn't out yet to Ubuntu 16.10, while it's fixed for Ubuntu
17.04. It kinda doesn't make sense to not have it pushed to 16.10 since
many people are using it. When is it expected to be pushed to all users?

i am facing the same problem with ubuntu 7.10-64 bit os on open office
2.3, with a samsung ml-1610 printer. Please note the problem arises only
with open office and not cups as i can print multiple copies with

yes i have to wait for about 1 minute for a page to load and everytime i
scroll down. and that is the point. i don't have to wait if i use 'xpdf'. i
really think this has to be sorted in evince as it is the default program
in ubuntu for pdf files. also it would be preferable that evince can read
