I've not been able to reproduce the bug with latest f-spot (0.6.1.5) in
Ubuntu Lucid. Can you try again with an updated version of f-spot and
report here if it is still an issue? I know there have been some work
in f-spot for a similar (albeit different) issue, which might have fixed
that bug.
Hello there, I'm unable to reproduce that bug with color profiles
enabled in Ubuntu Lucid with F-Spot 0.6.1.5 . I know some work have
been done to the color management of F-Spot, that might have fixed this
issue. Can you try again with an updated version of F-Spot an see of it
is still an issue
Just tested it under a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04, this is no longer
a bug for me, I guess a fix has been released!

Well, I can confirm this issue. I'm using f-spot for years (with some
files containing colons in their name) and recently (after update) only
that made the application crash. I can provide you with a little python
script I wrote to rename files and database entries, but that would not

My 2 cents: it happened to me a lot of times (almost every time) in
intrepid with -proposed repository activated (and system full up-to-
date). I had to re-install but now I did without activating -proposed,
and while this is still happening, it does a lot less often now.

I can confirm the bug using rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20080903-0ubuntu2
(intrepid source compiled under hardy). The behavior is exactly the
same as rhythmbox 0.11.5 available in standard hardy. While I haven't
looked at the patch referred by Christian Apolloni, I found my way out

Just happened to me. Ubuntu 8.04 with genereic kernel. Steps to reproduce:
1- Install system-config-samba from apt-get
2- Select Samba from the System - Administration menu.
From a terminal:

You can fire up f-spot with -b and -p switches, assigning them some other paths
to place photos. For example:
$ f-spot -b /media/multimedia/Photos -p /media/multimedia/Photos
will put photos to /media/multimedia/Photos and use it as a base
directory, outside of the ~ directory.

but it conflicts with the nvidia-glx-new proprietary driver. Since

I got the same issue. Althought, I got once the session loaded and then
with the system monitor, I could see that nautilus was taking 99% of
CPU.

Hi Mke E. I noticed after trying Kubuntu that when one switches user,
it opens another VT with another X server to that other user. For
example, lets say user Joe is logged-in usuallyand has locked the
screen. Then user Sarah arrives and activates the Switch User
button, then KDM appears as
Same here. Actually, things are strange, as the partition is mounted
and it appears as unmounted into gparted.

It happens to me as well, but only when using Beryl. I have not tried
compiz (3D desktop) so I cannot compare, but at least it happens when
using Beryl. Are you using compositing engine (Desktop Cube for
example)? If so, try to reproduce while disabeling it.
