/usr/local/share/applications is a symbolic link on one of my systems
because I am using xstow to manage packages in /usr/local. There are
valid .desktop files within this linked directory, however.
tracker-miner-apps cannot parse this file/link/directory, so it keeps
trying
I reverted to linux-image-2.6.38-15-generic-pae (2.6.38-15.61) and the
NFS performance is back to normal, and the CPU load dropped down to
almost nothing, as before. This is clearly a linux kernel regression.

I am experiencing the same behavior in a small network with 1 Gb
ethernet connection between client and server. Large files can be moved
over Samba quickly. The same files over NFSv4 move very slow and pause
for long periods of time. I also see the high load due to nfsd threads.
This problem

_NET_WM_FULLSCREEN_MONITORS hint with the number of coordinates of
monitors to both of my monitors (when I had two).

Please look again at the process listing in #10. It is running, and I
checked that it is in fact a child of gnome-session. The only gnome-
session running on this machine is the one started by VNC. So, why is
policy kit unable to find this authentication agent? This is the same
issue that I keep

I installed Maverick desktop edition in a VM using the ISO image.
After installation, I installed only vnc4server and ssh. I logged in
remotely and started the VNC session. I confirmed that users-admin does
not get an authorization from policy kit. No window appears that says
that it cannot get

The workaround for Karmic or newer does not work on Maverick server
install with ubuntu-desktop added via tasksel. Has anybody had success
with it or found a different workaround? Should I file a new bug?

Policy Kit Unlock Buttons Greyed Out when using NX / VNC / LTSP
I cannot reproduce the bug when the theme is Clearlooks. After switching
the theme back to Ambience, I can reproduce the bug immediately.
Note that this does not occur on the same (virtual) machine if I am
logged into a console session through GDM.

After upgrading my primary desktop machine (installed using Ubuntu
Desktop edition, not Server) from Lucid to Maverick, I can reproduce
this bug from within a VNC desktop session. Therefore, it should be
reproducible on any Maverick default installation when using the
Ambience theme in VNC.

I have seen this behavior in both 64b and 32b installs. I ran apport-bug
from my 64b machine, so that is why it is tagged amd64.

Reverting to gnome-system-tools 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 (from Lucid) does make a
difference. I also needed to install liboobs-1-4 2.30.0-0ubuntu1.
It eventually works, but outputs this warning:

I used Sound Juicer on Jaunty to rip the majority of my CDs, and then
Picard to do some tag clean-up, so this bug got me. I wrote a small
utility to fix the MusicBrainz tags (attached).
Note that you must have python and python-mutagen installed, and I only
tested this code with python2.6.
