I have some new information. I am currently running linux-
image-2.6.32-31-generic-pae because that is booting fine. But when I
turned on the option in BIOS -- Powre Management -- AC Power Recovery
(ON) then the system did the same thing. When it boots up it just goes

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.32-22-generic-pae
I have a DELL OptiPlex 170L. My theory is that the kernel is somehow
throwing the machine in a hibernate / sleep mode upon bootup. Maybe it
has something to do with the video driver? (guessing ...)

I have the same problem. Username goes blank. The calendar doesn't
seem to sync. When I move other calendar items over to the Google
calendar, they seem to move, but then they disappear.
