It happens in Gutsy too. Evince has a tendency to lock my sound card.
Never would I have guessed that it was my PDF reader that was at fault.

I have a Radeon 9800 pro in my computer (non-laptop) and I think that I
only have the problem with switch user when I use fglrx and when I use
the free driver I instead have random lockups when running GL
applications but switch user works.
