I found that after doing a fresh install of 13.10 server, the wpa
passphrase for the network used during install was stored in plain text
in /etc/network/interfaces and by default the file has 644 permissions.
As stated by the original creator, this is a potential security risk.

Just upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10. During the upgrade process a problem
was reported when it tried to upgrade virtualbox (which previously was
not in the repos and had to be installed manually). However, after
everything was said and done I rebooted

dpkg returns error code 1
After doing some tracing from setserial.postinst I was able to
determine that the problem appears to exist in Debconf::Db perl package.
I have attached my trace of perl -e 'use Debconf::Db;'

Scratch the previous post, that was due to a bad piece in memory. But I
am still having the issue. I have narrowed it down to
/usr/share/debconf/frontend

cursor.
I did a hard reboot, as none of the typical key combos were working.
On reboot, I was given the message plymouth main process (###) killed
by SEGV
