[quote]However, In this weeks builds, feisty added debug messages during
boot. For the last 3-4 daily builds, there appear several messages
regarding harddisk/cdrom access (and a lot of unnecessary cdrom accesses
activity) before the splash screen. After about two screens of errors
the system
this crash has something to do with the notification that gwget puts on
it's notification area icon. I believe this is fixed in the latest
gwget. I'm not sure though, since I built it against libnotify which
might not be the default.

I was just calling the original driver official, because
unichrome/openchrome are both derived from the via driver. that one was
bad/buggy/..., hence not really something official.
Furthermore, I9 think ubuntu wouldn't want to express any preference
between openchrome and unichrome. let's just
the sf bug is fixed in the latest versions of libgpod/gtkpod. hence this
should be fixed in feisty.

I'm not seeing the kernel crash any longer with the latest edgy kernel
(2.6.17.1-10.34 generic). I have to rmmod ehci-hcd however to get usb
working more or less. Otherwise it still fails after copying some data.

please, can we have this fixed before feisty?
it's really simple to fix this:
1) xserver-xorg-video-via should contain
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/via_drv.so with the old via driver.
2) xserver-xorg-video-unichrome should contain
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/via_drv.so with the new unichrome

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gtkpod
apart from some usb issues I can work around, gtkpod works fine.
adding/deleting/syncing dirs/... all work. there's one big annoyance
however.
when I write changes to the ipod, gtkpod tries to write but it fails.

Public bug reported:
libgphoto 2.2 in edgy has created a lot of difficulties for a lot of
cameras. 0.2.3 in feisty fixes these problems.
A backport would be very nice. Otherwise, bugreports will keep coming in
until feisty is out, which is 4 months from now.
** Affects: libgphoto2 (Ubuntu)
^ that would be 2.3.0 in feisty
