I am having this same issue with Intrepid. Just to be clear--the locale
setting in /etc/fstab does not appear to work unless I manually umount
and mount the filesystem after boot. No parameters are necessary other
than the mount point.

Just thought I'd report that I used "chrt -r -p 1 " and the
difference is night and day...no lag or stuttering cursor. I had first
tried this on the synergyc process, but that didn't seem to have an
effect. Not sure why this is necessary now, but at least I have a
workaround for the moment...

I applied your patch and rebuilt Synergy, but I still have the lag issue. I am
