When I open up a contact with a Birthday date, only the day and the
month of the Birthday are displayed, but not the year. I didn't find any
way to bring up this Information. Before the last upgrade, it was
working as expected.

Thanks for reporting this bug! What version of cmus are you using? If
you have a version 2.4.0, can you install cmus from my PPA and see if
the crash still happens?
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jmuc/cmus
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cmus cmus-plugin-ffmpeg
