I am seeing the same problem with using a USB-C monitor connected directly to my laptop. I do have one crash file in /var/crash -- see attached. The file might be a red-herring though caused only by me trying to restart gnome-shell once it was stuck. ** Attachment added:

I see the same issue AttilaN describes in his last comment. I can connect to SIP accounts on both Gimzo5 and on SipGate. I get registered fine, I see the incoming call fine, I can accept the call fine, the window for the call opens and says Connecting..., but then the call never actually connects.
