My elderly mother just had a shoulder operation so can't move around
alot. They have an Ubuntu machine hooked up to their TV. It would be
really great if she could watch her old movies easily without having to
get up. I'd really appreciate it if someone gets this fixed.

I can confirm this bug. I cannot conntect to a WPA2 router, even with
the ralink 3090 package installed it just wont connect.
This is a big problem because this wi-fi card is sold as part of the
the EEEPC 1001HA by a major retailer in the UK (Argos)Asus EEEPC 1001
which has these installed.
I have the same issue. It's a real pain because I want to copy a DVD
that I have legal rights to.

I'm a professional programmer who uses fop php to create complex mail
merges. Sometimes the data has over one million records and or tables
in the letters (statements etc). FOP is certainly a very useful tool for
me because it produces the actual PDF files. Alternative

cosmetic one. When I click anything in the main window of this
application I get taken to the wrong page. This seems to be because
the program doesn't seem to know where I'm clicking. For example, if I
click 'desktop cube' it

I can confirm This. I'm having the same problem. The error message
occurs at boot time and the firewall does not start for me at all. I've
had to shut down my test server because there is no firewall running,
leaving all the open ports are left vulnerable. This error started
occuring after
dpkg reconfigure-xorg wont detect these chipsets and uses the Vesa
driver instead of a VIA one. Manually switching to the VIA driver
doesn't seem to work either. The xorg configuration utitlity is also
unable to detect the resolution for the screen. Desktop Effects in Gnome
dont seem to work with
A new update from the games official website seem to fix this. Please
confirm or deny this.

I had the same problem with edgy and fiesty. The problem seems to be
fixed in Gutsy but I dont recommend installing Gutsy yet. In edgy and
fiesty I had to recompile the alsa driver to get it to work. Apparently
a newer version of the Alsa driver is better with the HDA soundcard that
these laptops
I had the same problem, especially at boot time. To get it to stop I
removed /etc/rc2.d/S05vbesave and any files with the same name in the
other rcx.d folders. I also disabled the restricted drivers in
System-Admininstration-restricted drivers. That worked for me and
didn't seem to affect my

mouse connects to a usb slot on the keyboard. When I switch the
computer on and try to start Ubuntu it crashes just after grub. The
screen goes black and goes into standby mode and the hard disk light
