I am now running Hardy Heron. Since my last post I've also bought a router and thus nolonger have my Ubuntu box acting as router/firewall, it's purley a client with one internal ip now. The symptoms is nolonger that the entire system gets unresponsive, now it's only nautilus that stops responing.

Oh sorry for not commenting on this. I think the problem had to do with my configuration of daemontools. It was configured to respawn at all runlevels making it impossible to unmount. So I have sinced fixed the issue by fixing that. However, there might be reason to investigate a cleaner way of

I was just trying to provide some background to help track down the underlying problem. In any case, it doesn't seem possible to take a screenshot while having a menu shown. But just hit the View-menu and you should see what I'm talking about. There are two disabled entries: Normal Size and Stop.
