Same issue, has any workaround been discovered? This is a huge problem
for me. Willing to help debug, whatever it takes.

glftpd unable to handle certain directory names
To manage
Terminal gets stalled when it says setting up flash plugin -non free, and
just sits there like that forever. Also yupdate mgr won't run as says
synaptic is still running.
