I experienced the same problem as soon as I upgraded to 13.04. I
followed the instructions on http://geekphreek.com/2013/03/skype-
segmentation-fault-core-dumped/ and preloaded libGL.so in this way to
start Skype:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 skype
And after that Skype stopp
I've uninstalled the keytouch package and now I can logout and shutdown
from a KDE session. Somehow, keytouchd was blocking this.
Even though it now works, the logout process seems to be substantially
slower that Kubuntu Gutsy.

I also have the same problem with Kubuntu hardy updated from Gutsy.
While in the black screen I can also kill X with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace and
then login to shutdown.
