The manpage for thinkfinger is misleading, but I'm afraid you're all
simply wrong. ldd `which tf-tool` clearly shows that it's linked
against pam.
To enroll a new user, you simply need to run sudo tf-tool --acquire.
That will be enough in hardy to enroll a user. You do not need to copy
the file

Lorenzo, your bug appears to be caused by a conflict between the package
for ati's binary drivers and nvidia's binary drivers. A different bug
should probably be filed on this.
If you have no need for ati drivers, I'd suggest apt-get remove xorg-
driver-fglrx. If you need both, definitely file

I should add now, that after testing Scott's packages, I found that
everything was in working order. GDM, sudo, gksudo, gnome-screensaver,
etc. There's probably still bugs lying around, but it at least works.

Preparing to replace cupsys
If you're having permission problems with wminput, run with sudo. The
README's solution is insecure and future work appears to take a much
smarter approach.

It's been a month, so I decided to retest this (I had moved to nvidia to
test out compiz). The same problem occurs, without the S's. Attaching

Status
After speaking with cjwatson on this, I think it may be simpler and
wiser to advise users to run wminput via sudo. Newer versions in
upstream have a better approach that alter related functionality
anyways.

Try running sudo -K; gksudo -d echo Test from a terminal. That might give
us a clue as to why it
nanosleep({0, 100}, unfinished ... was called.
If it hangs, try the same strace approach again, please.

I'm looking for a description of the currently available groups to
determine whether to add a new group or use an existing one for a udev
rule in a package in universe (wminput). I can't find any and mpt
suggests they might not exist.
