Interesting experiences.
Despite the bug I gave a try to update. I have altogether 3 computers.
1. Ubuntu 18.10, 'normal' PC, Nvidia card (I don't know if it adds anything to
the issue), CPU is a 6-core AMD
When updating, everything seems normal, then comes the message as seen above.

Same here on two computers. However the problem was caused with
different packages: in one case it was the package menu, the other I
can't remember any more, but definitely something else.

Ubuntu 18.10. My resolvconf package is currently 1.79ubuntu10.18.10.3,
and with this it works. What the version number was that solved it I
don't know, but it was the one released around the day I reported the
bug solved.

I confirm having used virtualbox, however this was a 32bit ubuntu. In
the meanwhile I cannot check it any more, as I have installed 14.04.2
LTS 64bit. I just hated plasma 5.2.2 and 5.3, but that is a different

...and now the same with saucy... 3.11.0-12 generic kernel, if it
matters. On two computers I have tried, both are unable to sync the same
way as described above.
