Unfortunately, I have done an apt-get autoremove since this happened to
fix some AWN issues, which I think fixed the issue.

Using apt-get install/remove/anything on g15daemon results in:

Tried force options with dpkg, no joy. Synaptic and apt-get both return
errors. Update manager says not all updates can

When the G15 keyboard was moved from the KVM to the computer directly, I
could remove and install the g15daemon. Bug solved (though I'd say
there should never be a program that half installs and can't be
removed).

Thanks Patrick. That fixed the problem. Still cannot understand why
we're waiting for an official fix given the fact a solution has existed
since April 2008!!
