(Extended display identification data) from the Monitor. If the monitor
does not supply this, then (as in my case) everything you try will fail.

My second monitor showed a big white and blue stripe down the middle and
after a reboot a dithered screen with every other scan line blacked out.
The shocker of this incident is Wont Fix!!! Unbelievably unprofessional.

This is true for all Display Link Devices under Ubuntu. Bought a Lilliput UM-70
(Displaylink) USB Monitor because I saw someone else in the community got it
working. The Liliput also showed a green screen when plugged in, instead of
the display, so the bug is larger than only the HP USB
Proof of this bug in a screenshot. I have had my ubuntu customer in a
panic now twice due to this matter. It happens when the machine has been
turned off for the night. The next day he starts the machine (the nas
runs 24/7 but goes into sleep mode), but the nas is still sleeping, so

If it's to lock the device to a particular device. This means that the
system already 'knows' what the valid choices are for the MAC address.
The best way to display this would be with a drop down list of the valid

cannot display the Ambiance Theme at all. Just after logging in, it shows the
Ambiance theme for about 10 seconds then it defaults back to the default GTK2.0

N and Bluetooth. I was considering the same solution buying a Intel

So I worked around the bug the old fashioned way.
Purged dkms completely from my system, then removed the folder /var/lib/dkms
then reinstalled my videocard and wireless network adapter drivers
Then reconfigured virutalbox
1640 sudo aptitude purge dkms
1641 cd ~
1642 sudo rm -r
After a reboot, it still fails.
The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or
there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the
kernel module by executing
'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'
(/dev/vboxdrv) does not exist.

Yes, the problem is that dkms has to be re-run every day. The module is
not remembered across a reboot.
If you re-read the original bug report I stated:
every day I have to run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup because the ubuntu

indicating disconnection, even though the network connection is

I appologize, I should have written I 'think' I found the solution.
I just tried on 4 different machines with mixed results.
Note I used my facebook username on all of these tests and not my e-mail
address.
On the HP Pavillion m9351.nl (intel Core2 Quad)
Lucid 64-bit
Upgraded from Karmic
ext4
I was able to add Facebook to gwibber on my laptop which is a fresh
install of Lucid. But on my upgraded PC at home the Add button does not
show up. (see attached screenshot)
I've tried all the suggestions in this bug but none have been succesful.

Click microblog from the mail

I figured out what it is...
This gave me the clue
Trying to register gtype 'WnckWindowMoveResizeMask' as enum when in fact it is
of type 'GFlags'
gwibber add facebook conflicts with Compiz.
I went to System... Look and Feel... Visual Effects...
chose none
then close
then

Using the latest version of Oracle Virtual Box from their repositories, every
day I have to run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup because the ubuntu DKMS package is
not doing it's job.
This bug also exists using the VirutalBox package from the Ubuntu

. Browse to it in Nautilus
. Double Click to open the file from Nautilus
. The OpenOffice.org 3.2 splash screen shows, then hangs openoffice completely
