Status in upstream github is closed wontfix.
The reason is that ppi is defined as an integer, and the cups-filters usage is
broken.
Reported the issue to cups-filters at https://github.com/OpenPrinting

Public bug reported:
cups encode.c treats parameter ppi as an integer, but it should be a
string.
the image filter drivers expect the form ppi=300x600
to specify source image dpi for images where it is asymmetric.
I encountered this issue trying to print full-sized images without scaling on a
the version currently in hirsute is not fixed, install dependency is still
against the nvidia-driver package version it was built against, see
https://packages.ubuntu.com/hirsute/nvtop
the installation deps are picked up via shlibs, which should probably be
overridden to pick the metapackage
testing build with a nvtop-1.0.0/debian/shlibs.local file:
libnvidia-ml 1 libnvidia-ml1
nvtop builds with a dependency on the virtual package libnvidia-ml1 is provided
by multiple verisons of libnvidia-compute-x.
built package has these depends:
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.17), libncursesw6 (>= 6),
i think the ${shlibs} Depends needs to be overridden or removed in favor
of a a dependency on libnvidia-ml1

i'm still experiencing this problem. with all updated packages. No PPAs
installed, i even tried removing all packages from universe and
restoring al package configs to default, and a new user account. no
luck. this install was upgraded from maverick. i can't test a new
install at the moment
g-c-c shows up empty in my user account, and in a new test account, whether i
log in from lightdm or gdm. running it from a term produces no output at all.
but i noticed that it does work _inside_ lightdm if with the unity theme set.
