Public bug reported:
Asus A9RP comes with a version of the USB ZyDAS ZD1211 802.11b/g built

Netfilter provides patch-o-matic patches that adds a target TARPIT that
sabotages network connections, which is useful in slowing down attackers
of various kinds. It'd be great to have this support in the kernel.

Okay, maybe I'm not supposed to do this, but
I want my workstation to boot diskless, using nfsroot from a server.
Since I had everything set up (and working) with LTSP, I thought it'd be
easy to justs point pxelinux at the current
Did you try to boot without 'quiet' and 'splash' options (hit F6 I think it is,
for more boot options, and just remove them). I had to boot with 'acpi=off' as
well for my computer not to hang (but it still didn't detect my USB stuff
correctly, I'll file a separate issue about that).

I had something similar, where the computer would consistently hang for a
second or two when the frequency was lowered. My fix was just to manually set
the 'performance_governor' to 'performance' or 'powersave'. Some old notes:

Just to say 'me too'. (I've marked my bug 69773 a duplicate of this one;
I've also listed other possible duplicates in the comments for 69773).
This was difficult to track down, and it'd be good if there was a
warning if any interface is hidden because of an iftab entry, and/or
udev would warn
Got the same thing with ion3 failing to start. I fixed it by moving the old
directory out of the way, and making a symlink from the old (xorg.conf) font
dir to the new dir.

I've been in touch with somebody with the same mainboard, he's using
Debian and while the interfaces have been switched around occasionally,
they've both been working, for kernels 2.6.1[678]. Any ubuntu-specific
patches in there?

I'll check out /etc/iftab later.
Less likely, but not impossible duplicates:

/etc/iftab contained a bogus mac address for eth0. Presumably, the
systems leaves eth0 unassigned in that case. I entered the interfaces
correctly, and everything seems to be back in order. For my purposes
this issue is resolved, but perhaps the upgrade process should check
that iftab entries

Sorry about adding Baltix to the list of affected distributions, that
