Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: giggle
It's a great innovative project and since the version 0.4 from 2007, which is
included in ubuntu jaunty and karmic, giggle has become many improvements and
bug fixes.
The last release ist version 0.4.91 from february 2009. See
I can confirm this bug with Ubuntu 9.04.
It's very annoying because tasque is made to speed up the work flow, but this
bug is slowing things down...
I'm Using the latest official Ubuntu version:
tasque 0.1.8-1build2
evolution-data-server: 2.26.1-0ubuntu1
** Changed in: tasque (Ubuntu)
It seems that a fix is commited and is intregrated at least in Jaunty (Addons
- Tools - Hash for duplicates).
It worked for an example picture, I've tested.
Can someone else please confirm if it works now in Jaunty for him, too?

Thanks for reporting this bug.
Can you please give a few more details about the system configuration (cpu,
ram)?
In which situation is Ubuntu 9.04 to heavy ?
Through the installation or while using? Which program?
What kind of problems did you have?

Thanks for responding Sebastien , will try to follow protocol now,

The problem became more and more annoying. In the meantime I figured out that
it must be a problem between pidgin and orbit.

This bug-report has been started at the gnome bug tracker in march 2005
and now, 3 years later, march 2008, this feature is STILL missing.
In my eyes that is not a missing feature.
In my eyes it is a bug, that makes the program unusable, because it does often
create dups, if you use it often
