Totally agree with Andrew Mcmillan here. This is not a duplicate. This
problem means the computer will never shutdown. I too had an NFS mount
defined in /etc/fstab and removing this means this computer now
I've strong reason to believe you have jumped the gun here in closing
this as invalid. I have attempted to re-run the update, same problem. I
have rebooted, same problem. No other problems are occuring on this
hardware, everything else runs perfectly. Looking at other bugs reported

I had this problem, and just to note I got lucky and did not uninstall
everything from local or obsolete packages in synaptic, I just deleted
the libopencv* packages and this fixed it up without having to re-
install all the other stuff I actually wanted from within that filter.

Thanks for the workaround, I thought this was game over for the update.
Just wanted to add that I checked on the command line with mysql and I
_was_ using the correct password - So this could potentially catch
everyone out on upgrade, not just when the password is unknown
