First note - if all you need is glade support, Anjuta will work fine as
long as you do an 'Open With' and choose the second Glade Interface
Designer (the one with capitals at the beginning) in the menu - and it
will open with the external glade interface designer, rather than using
the plugin.
This is the first time I've done this... so I think I've built the
package before doing the debdiff, rather than just building the source -
hence the automake changes in the diff. I've redone the patch and it has
only the changes I've made before building now. See the new version of
the debdiff
When you enter the key does it select a process with that character anywhere it
is name? For example I have the following processes:
bash
bluetooth-applet
bonbo-activation-server
checkgmail
compiz
compiz.real
dbus-daemon
gconfd-2
If I'm looking for the gconfd-2 and start typing 'g' it selects

Just a further note to this bug (contrary to my discussions on ubuntu-

updated to reflect the glade3 abi change, so it should come through
with the next release of anjuta.

Here is the debdiff for this patch. It is slightly different to the
previous one given that it is working for all the nvidia drivers - and
does an explicit check for the package name matching.

Ok here is the proper debdiff patch fixing this issue.

A possible workaround (I've removed mine by applying the patched version
to /var/lib/dpkg/info/nvidia-glx.postrm so I can't test this) however it
might work by:
1. removing nvidia-glx-new
2. purging/removing nvidia-glx
3. reinstall nvidia-glx-new
There may be a catch with this (which results in

Looking through the control files for anjuta it doesn't list the
required packages as build dependencies. I've added them in and
installed the build dependencies and rebuilt, but the interface designer
plugin was still failing (but not crashing) giving the following error:
(anjuta:12513):
I'm having the same issue. Looking at the nvidia-glx.postrm in
/var/lib/dpkg/info shows that it is trying to revert back to the
xlibmesa version of the Open GL libraries, however they are currently
owned by nvidia-glx-new.
Perhaps the attached patch can fix this - by checking if the files are
In fact, right clicking anything in the gconf-editor doesnt bring up a
'reset key' option, just an 'unset key' one.
To reset to defaults try using the 'unset key' option. I could then add
