movie player does not play encrypted dvd

'could not play dvd, dvd decrypted library not installed'. I installed
the restricted extras but it doesn't work.

although I've installed restricted extra's to be able to play mp3
files, Rhythmbox won't import mp3 files (files are located on a shared
folder and are visible in both Windows

I am using a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo xi3650 notebook which has finger
touch sensitive multimedia keys. They dont give the right response when
using them - even though I configured them in the keyboard shortcuts.

Dears,
As I am rather a beginner I guess I need to run the command
rhythmbox --debug rhythmbox-debug.txt in the konsole? When I do
this Rhythmbox opens bu that is it, there is no log file popping up or
whatsoever :-(

I thought it may be a program to install but couldn't find it with
synaptic. so could you please clarify and explain me as well how to jump

When double clicking the avi file it is opened in Totem Movie player
(avi file is played), when trying to load the subtitles (View Menu /
subtitles) it says empty and the
