In OpenOffice 3.2 (Ubuntu 10.04) I did not manage to reproduce this
issue, looks like it is fixed now.

I'm using 1.2 GHz eMac with Interpid, this bug is still present, ati
driver is not working, I must use fbdev driver instead.
