Just installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - and all current updates - on Sony Vaio PCV-RS320, and I can confirm this bug. After a normal boot the disk activity light remains solidly lit, even when there is no I/O in process. Opening and closing the DVD-RW drive has no effect. Opening and closing the
