Here's how I did:
* Boot from the Live CD/DVD
* Depending on the Live CD you are using (Gnome is better, cause you'll only
need to double click the appropriate icon on your desktop), you'll have to
manually mount your root partition or not.

I have no idea about. Welll, actually I think it's a Thunderbird bug,
because it should register the .eml extension (there are some
specifications from freedesktop.org to do so).

Confirmed. It didn't break the packages cache. I think that synaptyc

seems that this accours with Intel graphic cards...

Gstreamer fails to autodetect the correct video output on my hardware
and ALL the videos (xvid, ogg theora, wmv) are only displayed in black
White, with both Totem and Vlc players.. Compiz is not related to this
bug (it also happens when it is disabled).

This morning I had problems with an update, after a reboot Gnome didn't
load some of my preferences. After a second reboot everything worked
fine, including OO.org. It's very strange, I don't know if it is related
with the update, but

still remains.
