Trying to mount a personnal dir (not home) with ecryptfs-simple fails, with the same error messages in kern.log as comment #20. (Using Linux Mint 19, Xfce.) The workaround in comments #26 and #30 works for me. (No sudo like in #28 : with sudo the mount works but the key sig gets added to
