Thanks for checking this out, fqj1994. I uninstalled with pip and purged
with apt and it worked.

The first installation guide I read suggested I install the python
package (pip install supervisor) which I did but had some problem
(sorry, can't remember what). I'm not if it's related but now I get
this when apt-get install supervisor

I had something very similar. When installing fiesty on my PS4 (with an
MSI motherboard and AMI bios) desktop from the release iso, I get
kernel panic - not syncing Attempted to kill init! The call trace
starts with pci_sort. So I then tried live pci=nosort and it boots to
the main login prompt
