AFTER finding the need for 2 packages in order to see 1394 capture screen
(first reference was correct second said ffplay but ffmpeg was the closest so I
loaded that)
I just fell over this problem whilst waiting for those other packages to load.
I was just trying to move clips from the top panel down to the time-line panel.
I actually used (Ubuntu 8.04 server) Synaptics and downloaded kde-extras (so no
doubt got much more than I needed).
As soon as that was installed, kdenlive just crashed [ Signal 11 ] after it had
drawn its panels and contents. i.e. even worse than before ! back to XP again
I'm afraid
... Oh, not yet as a new shell and restart didn't crash :-}
...hmm depends on recovery/project file; very fragile.
