Public bug reported: Hi all, I have bought a laptop (amd64 Turion) and installed Ubuntu Dapper amd64-generic on it. I have notice that whenever I turn the laptop on disconnected from power line, Ubuntu does not notice this. Then, it does not apply my preference that it should shut itself down
