Thanks a ton for your efforts guys. I really hope you can figure out
what is wrong (wish I could actively help but I can only test). In the
meanwhile I've been playing around with a tool that remaps the various
jacks (e.g. mic can become line-out). You can find it here:
Oh ok, then it has just been a (failed) desperate attempt. :) Thanks for
the explanation.

Hi Kiril,
I am also interested in this bug because I had the same problem also on
Windows (and I'm thinking of installing Ubuntu as well). The same
problem (no sound from headphones after waking up from sleep mode) is
present in Windows 8/8.1 and the solution is simply to install the

It's been over 20 days now and Unity 7.1.2-14 has been released only for
Ubuntu 14.04 (http://packages.ubuntu.com/en/unity). Will it be released
for 13.10 anytime soon?

I confirm what Antoine said. Try to run either:
sudo apt-get install gdm
or
sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm
(if you've already installed gdm but left lightdm as the default login
manager)
and select gdm as the default login manager. The issue is gone. This is

Sorry guys I didn't realize I installed i386 packages on a x86_64
installation of Lubuntu. Anyway I've just reinstalled them on a 32bit
system and now everything works fine. I'm not experiencing any kind of
errors and I'm free to move the dragged file wherever I want without
causing anything weird
Upgraded all the libfm packages hierarchy to version 0.1.17-0ubuntu3.1.
Now it's possible to drag and drop files outside the archive manager
window but only if we don't drag the file back inside and outside again.
Test case:
1) Open an archive and drag the file you want to extract outside the
I confirm this happens also on i386 version and not only on the x86_64.
I tried to install Alpha 2 on an Asus Eee 1201N.
May I suggest to set the importance to High since it prevents the user
from installing the distribution using a separate home directory? Thank
you in advance.

I've got the same problem on Oneiric stable. Upgraded 5 minutes ago.
Whenever I try to run ristretto I get a grey inactive window and the
process raises the CPU at 100%. Didn't have any problems before
yesterday, no configuration changed and I've also tried to erase
~/.config/ristretto.

Ok, this is definitely a big audio bug. This is what I've experienced
(no headphones, max volume):
1) Run alsamixer and open some music/sound file.
2) Try to mute (press M) the Master Channel.
3) Unmute it (by pressing M again): nothing changes, still cannot hear anything
(= XF86Mute).

I was able to install Nvidia current driver plus VPAU support and Binary
Xorg driver (everything done from jockey selecting the first two
options). But the system keeps telling me that jockey-text has crashed
(even though I'm not using it!). Hope it helps!

I confirm pablo's experience. If you change that line you're unable to
change brightness in ANY way (both with Fn keys and gnome-power-
management panel). I'm very concerned about this bug. It exists from
version 9.10 and I still have it on Ubuntu 11.04 with linux 2.6.38-11.
Anyone who's trying to
Have you tried this?
1) open a terminal and type alsamixer (without quotes), press Enter.
2) The Alsa Mixer will appear, press F4 and go (with arrows) to the Capture
slide on the right.
3) keep pressed Z until the left slide is at 0 then keep pressed E until the
right slide is at 100.

I'm sorry to wake this thread up but I'm not able to install the package
on my Ubuntu 10.04.2 (just installed). This is the error log of dpkg

And this is the content of the file /var/lib/.../make.log :
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: lxterminal
I have freshly installed Lubuntu 11.04 with latest Nvidia Proprietary

strange black rectangle in the upper-left corner of the screen covered
by the terminal window itself.

I tried to find a similar bug but launchpad didn't find anything and 2
minutes after I reported it I see someone marks it as a duplicate of
this bug. Something is wrong here! :P
