I have the exact same issue. I am running a Dell Mini 9 and installing the mainline kernel (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v2.6.34-rc6-lucid/) did not fix the issue for me. -- Kernel crash when switching off wlan after wlan hangup (iwl3945) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/555286
