Same happened to me during an update of 14.04.
My Ubuntu 14.04 was pretty much genuine (unchanged), after several
months of inactivity the update today wanted to install 900MB. When
installing rpcbind, it barfed and the crash reporter took me here.

Many thanks for the analysis so far, the explanation with "empty radio
label" makes a lot of sense! - Does anyone know if a ticket already
exists with Ubuntu for getting this fixed ?
We also do see the crash occasionally with Mars on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit.

Some key bindings don't work (Navigate Show In, Alt+Shift+W), and these
messages on the console also don't look promising:
(SWT:25413): LIBDBUSMENU-GTK-CRITICAL **: watch_submenu: assertion
`GTK_IS_MENU_SHELL(menu)' failed
I also see lots of those assertions, and
