I'm using Kubuntu 10.04, and the link doesn't work for me. When I click
on the link, nothing happens at all. Not when I use Firefox, which is
my preferred web browser.
There is a Help app in the KDE menu, but this seems not to be related to
the Ubuntu website, it does not show the same content.

I'm having this same problem with Kubuntu 9.04, (AMD64 version). Jaunty.
It seems to be mostly people with 64-bit Kubuntu who have this problem.
Flash videos in Firefox and Konqueror had no sound. Amarok sound was
fine.
Here is the work-around that I used.
I used K-Mixer, from the system tray,
Jonathan, why did you say There isn't anything that can be done about
that? Surely all that needs to be done is that bookmarks.xml needs
to be given permissions so that everyone can read and write to it. That
can be done.

Are you thinking that the permissions of the file bookmarks.xml change
when Dolphin starts up, regardless of whether Dolphin writes to this

Or are you thinking that if Dolphin is run with sudo, then its
impossible for Dolphin to create a file which has permissions set so
that everyone can
I now realize that it would ask me for my password repeatedly because
Password Manager was not functioning. It was not functioning because I
had forgotten the correct password for Password Manager, and I always
entered an incorrect one.
Of course, its incorrect for Thunderbird to ask for the

I'm getting this same bug, in Thunderbird 2.0.0.16 in Kubuntu 8.04.1.
The workaround suggested by Roelof did not work for me either.

The workaround described by Dori works. But it would still be good if
the d3lphin developers can fix this bug. So I changed this from
invalid to confirmed. I think fixing this bug is a simple matter of
creating the bookmarks.xml file with different permissions.

Is there any more information that I could give, that would help you to

Perhaps I should just wait to see if anyone else reports seeing
something similar.
If someone else sees this bug, they may describe it differently from me.
I wasn't sure how to describe it. So if someone
