I investigated after submitting
All of the __pycache__ directories mentioned in the log were corrupted
from some sort of apparent disk or fs issue. I was able to remove them
and restart the upgrade, and it finished without any other errors

wouter, you are using a different driver and experiencing a different
bug. i've changed the bug watch to link to the correct bug upstream
the last commenter on that bug provided:

but according to modinfo, rt2860sta doesn't depend on any other modules.

The rt2800sta module in the lucid kernel has failed to connect to my

When I log in the applet is running but the space where it should be on
the panel is empty. It doesn't respond to anything, but it is still
able to connect to my wireless network automaticly.

With util-linux-ng 2.16.1 there's no change, but with git it works:
