I hate to just be another me too but I'm running Intrepid. Every few
days I have to reset this box from the power switch. The culprit in
every case is that Xorg has completely frozen and the box is totally
unresponsive... sometimes I can move the mouse but all Keyboard escapes
are non-functional.

Here's the one from Edgy Beta Live CD Desktop Installer. The only
available resolution under System-Preferences-Screen Resolution is
800x600.
I'm going to test this install anyway, so I'll run the install, fix

Yes, this has continued to be a problem ever since Dapper work started.
Warty and Breezy worked wonderfully for me but Dapper and now Edgy continue
to fail. It's related, I believe, to ATI cards... though again, xscreensaver
