I have the same issue on 17.04 (upgraded from 16.10).
Even when using ALT+F or ALT+(type desired menu item - e.g. Virtual
Machine Details), nothing happens (no visual feedback or errors).
Unfortunately, I cannot say when this behaviour started since I use
Remmina-Next to connect to and work on

The proposed package for nagios-plugins-basic seems to fix the issue.
The issue comes up usually every hour on hardy hosts. But on the patched
host, no nagios alerts for NTP since the proposed package was installed.
