I had the same problem after an upgrade from 17.10 to 18.04 - worked
fine in 17.10. Worked fine for other CD types, just not audio CDs. In
desperation I installed k3b, which I used prior to finding brasero a
couple years ago. On launch it complained about permissions on
/usr/bin/cdrdao - it needed

Problem was solved by first manually removing postgresql-9.1 and related
packages from previous upgrade, leaving postgresql-9.3 packages in
place, then repeating the upgrade.

the Browse window (with no files showing), and the icons will be
displayed in the Browse icons window.
