Sorry, I'm surprised I reported a bug with this little information.
I don't remember exactly what occurred so I can't verify if it's
reproducible in 8.10.

I think the defaults are fine for the most part - but it would be GREAT
if there were an extra option in the MonthCalendar(). Perhaps the
ability to add a different CSS page. I could quickly chop out a CSS file
that would efficiently change the calendar to what we are requesting.

reasons.
1. The problem may have been fixed.
2. Since my reinstall, I'm not using an application that was causing a conflict.
- I'm using gnome-power-manager, nm-applet, and openbox with the xrandr fix.

I do feel this is redundant. BUT.
I attached that info you wanted. I feel that script is rather bloated so
instead ran the commands.
I need xrandr. Once I do that, everything works except for the
oscillation bug. This bug is filed and mentioned above.
Once oscillation begins, I need to wait
Ubiquity isn't able to handle encrypted volumes. I don't think that
gparted can even handle it.
I agree this would be useful - but it's not currently possible.
The best thing you could do is either try an upgrade from the alternate
CD or just do an upgrade.

After todays updates the xrandr command allows the dimming to occur.
This really sucks that it's not a true dim but rather that other bug. I

I just want to add that nothing works until I do 'xrandr --output LVDS
--set BACKLIGHT_CONTROL native'. After that, xbacklight and function
keys work to set screen brightness.

OH! Unfortunate!
Apparently nobody ever sit on this xrandr fix. After changing the screen
brightness to the desired level, I use the system. I'm completely active
when doing so. Somehow the screen just starts fading to black. I haven't
had this issue with the fix in 8.04.1 but it's showing up now.
Just another confirm for working after running 'xrandr --output LVDS --set
BACKLIGHT_CONTROL native'.
I'm now running 8.10 so I'll scream with joy in here when it's working for me.

been fixed. Most likely in the hardware networking. Feel free to set the

A new version of Firefox has been released. Since this bug has been
marked for expiration I am setting the status to Fix Complete. Feel free

Firefox corrupt dow
Is anybody still having this problem or is running 'sudo update-manager
-d' in a fail-safe session good enough. Future upgrades have aimed to
solve this issue.
For now, I'm setting the Status to Fix Released. Feel free to set it
