I, am experiencing this same exact issue. I believe the problem lies in the fact that the volume is having difficulty unmounting. The logs above also indicate that with the error: pam_mount(mount.c:68): umount.nfs: /home/USER: device is busy. I am experiencing the same problem, only with CIFS.
