So, after installing/removing kernels several times, now linux-
image-5.11.0-16-generic manages to boot up correctly, even though there
seems to be a random 5-20 second longer wait before asking for disk
encryption password (compared to 20.10 with 5.8 kernels). I so have no
idea what's going on

Seems to be related to some kind of race condition between number of
monitors changing (decreasing?), system sleep and screensaver
activation?

rm -rf .byobu sudo dpkg -P screen fixed it.. Only byoby sessions
using screen has had this issue for me.

Had to remove both fix-build-issue-on-i386-where-TS_USEDFPU-is-no-
longe.patch and replace-for_each_cpu_mask-with-
for_each_possible_cpu.patch from dkms.conf to get this version
installed.. Then a simple dpkg-reconfigure fglrx-updates seems to have
fixed the problem...
