1. I pasted the output from the touchpad-edge-detector to the file:
/lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-evdev.hwdb
And uncommented whole default Lenovo Thinkpad T490 option (not sure it is
necessary)

sudo systemd-hwdb update
sudo udevadm

didn't see any errors during boot just blinking cursor in left upper

so, wayland started working properly.
steps:
1. fresh ubuntu install
2. 1st login done in wayland -> max resolution wrongly recognized to be rather
low (1200x800); scaling is disabled because of that

Still there with Ubuntu 18.10 after first lock + unlock screen. Fresh
update/upgrade and restart right now:

/etc/xrdp/pulse/default.pa, because of the xrdpd usage. :)

plugging in headphones in the front jack is detected (icon in the sound
settings is changed to headphones correctly), but no sound is played through
